FriendshipWorks is a private organization devoted to building bridges of understanding between the people of the United States and those of other cultures. Physically located in New Mexico and with partners all over the world, we work to connect people of all nations through words and deeds. Our website is our electronic passport to the world and provides a two-way forum for personal expression and home to articles that serve to enlighten and inspire friendship through positive discourse.
Our GoalsWe believe that most conflicts are resolvable if thoroughly understood and that the pursuit of understanding is the principal method to achieve that goal. That is why we espouse open, honest and respectful dialogue on a broad range of issues. Our overarching goal is to promote that dialogue through education, personal intercultural contact and involvement from all levels of society.
Our ActivitiesIn addition to hosting an interactive website and forum for discourse, we work with international and local organizations to coordinate the visits of emerging leaders and influential persons from every corner of society: government, business, academia, non-government organizations and especially the volunteer community. We promote conflict resolution roundtables and discussion groups. We coordinate intercultural encounters with local community resource groups. We compile a calendar of meetings and activities and offer space on our website to like-minded organizations wanting to promote their events and we publish articles and offer opinion/editorial pieces to the media in support of cross-cultural cooperation.
